Join us at Cosmos Ranch Foundation and make a difference! Help create a thriving space by clearing barns, planting food forests, building gardens, and crafting handmade goods. Together, we’re growing a resilient community!
The Cosmos Ranch Foundation is the new permaculture venue space for the Austin Permaculture Guild. We already have on-site a large geodesic zome dome with an earthen floor, over 100 poultry, 9 goats, 9 community members, food & medicine gardens, & 33k gallons of rainwater catchment all on 40 acres.
Projects we’ll be working on this Spring:
Clearing out the barn to use as venue space for teaching more workshops and holding more events to build community
Building berms & swales for proper drainage around venue and main buildings
Planting berms & swales with fruit trees and other food forest support species
Installing drip irrigation for these plants
Building garden space around zome dome
Wild harvesting plants and processing them
Making cheese, making sprouted flour and bread, making tea, making sprouted crackers, making tinctures and oxymels, etc.
Any one of these line items may be accomplished at one of these volunteer events! We will send an email the week of the volunteer day to let you know what we’re working on that week.
